While we were there working a Realtor came with a young couple to look at the house. They looked around a while, asked some questions and then they were gone. After they left we all talked about the visit and the house. We decided that we all need to look at things from a different perspective. We need to look at things from the perspective of the buyer. Not just what needs to be finished but what is the potential buyer going to see and look at. There is still tons of work that we need to complete before we can say we are finished.
Some of you ask why it is taking so long and, why do we still need to come and work, well here it is. Mom and Dad always taught us that when you move out, that the house needs to be left clean and free of repairs. This means that we need to make sure that everything is fixed and that we have cleaned everything so that it is ready for someone to come live in it whether we find a buyer for the house or not. We still need help form everyone because a few people can not get everything finished.
Here is an example of why it is taking so long. The windows all need to be cleaned extensively, this means that the windows all have to be taken out, the screens taken out and washed, the tracks, and the windows themselves. The tracks that the windows sit is are just caked in mud, bugs, spiders, etc. so we have to scraped everything out of the window slides as well as the casings. We then have to vacuum the window out and then wash out any of the leftovers. Once the tracks are cleaned then we have to wash all of the windows inside and out, now remember that there are double windows in each room. Jill and Moi washed the window in the family room this weekend, that is all they were able to do (thank you for getting this done) and they spent about 4 hours doing this. One day Susan and I cleaned windows in the living room and both front bedrooms, it took us all day long that Saturday to wash 3 rooms of windows. So, on a list of things to do when it says wash windows we are talking about several hours to just wash the windows and we still have a few more rooms to do this with.
